Recorded wartime service
Ruda entered Navy service as a pilot-recovery vessel when war began. Requisitioned for the Ministry of War Transport in 1940, she undertook Admiralty auxiliary patrol duties, followed by miscellaneous naval duties from 1942 to 1944, and remained under Admiralty control until 1946.
