Recorded wartime service
Before the outbreak of war she was used on a covert Admiralty mission. The Royal Navy collected her in 1940 for Operation Dynamo, then fitted a small deck gun for patrol work between Harwich and the Thames. She later served with the Royal Army Service Corps on the Clyde until 1945.
